Zach Wahls, a 19 year old engineering student at Iowa University brought up by two woman, delivers an incredible speech about Prop 6 in Iowa that will outlaw gay marriage.

Overheard.

(WOMAN ascends from subway station, surveys surroundings, and apparently ascertains that this is the wrong stop.)
WOMAN: Shit.
(She descends into subway station.)

The greatest medicine is the emptiness of everything.
“Happiness never decreases by being shared.”
“The cause of all pain and suffering is ignorance.”
“The whole secret of existence is to have no fear. Never fear what will become of you, depend on no one. Only the moment you reject all help are you freed.”

Temper Trap - Soldier On

Soldier on,

Soldier on,

Keep your heart,

Close to the ground

I cannot love like these two love.

“One day, there was this windy sound - all valcuum-cleaner-like. And would you believe, a blue box of wood flew right outta the sky! Well, I didn’t know what to think - I wasn’t accepting a mail delivery or nothing - so I just watched. Soon enough, a funny little man, with the floppiest hair I’ve laid my eyes upon, stepped out. He wore a blue bow tie and was waving about a silver pencil, like he was trying to fix something. And then, that man smiled up at me, came on over to give my hand a nice firm shake, and asked if I liked running.

Now, I been running with the Doctor ever since. He’s a real strange man - likes to wear hats of all sorts - but he couldn’t be nicer to me. We’ve had lots of fun adventures, he and I. And I’ve learned lots of lessons from him, like to never give up hoping and that it’s OK to act like a child sometimes. Since I started traveling with the Doctor, I’ve gotten so much more brave; smarter, too. I think mama would be real proud.”
